Welcome to FlipperPic! Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how TeraTastic LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), the developer of the FlipperPic application, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

To provide you with the best experience, FlipperPic requests certain permissions and accesses specific data on your device. Here is exactly what we access and why:

  • Photos & Videos (Media Store): We need access to your device's media gallery to display, organize, and allow you to curate your photos and videos.
    • Privacy Guarantee: Your media files are processed locally on your device and never leave your phone unless you explicitly choose to share them or cast them to a screen. We do not upload your photos or videos to our servers.
  • Location Data (Optional): We may request access to your device's location or the location metadata (EXIF data) embedded in your photos.
    • Privacy Guarantee: This data is used exclusively for the "Map your memories" feature, allowing you to browse and filter photos by where they were taken. We do not track your real-time location or share this data externally.
  • Google Drive Account (Optional): You can opt-in to connect your Google Drive account.
    • Privacy Guarantee: This is used strictly to back up your FlipperPic metadata (such as albums, ratings, notes, and tags) to your own personal Google Drive so you don't lose your curation work if you get a new phone. We do not upload your photos to Google Drive, and we cannot access your other Google Drive files.
  • Local Network Discovery (Optional): We may request network permissions to discover devices.
    • Privacy Guarantee: This allows FlipperPic to find and connect to your smart TVs or streaming devices (like Chromecast or DLNA) when you want to cast and view photos on the big screen.
  • Notifications: Android requires us to show a notification when background tasks (like building our lightning-fast database of your photos) are running.
  • Anonymous Usage Analytics (Optional): If you opt-in, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (such as which features are used most) to help us improve the app.
    • Privacy Guarantee: No photos, names, locations, or personally identifiable information are ever sent.

2. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties.

  • Third-Party Services: We may use third-party services (such as Google Analytics or Firebase) to process anonymous usage data, provided you have opted in. These services have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Because FlipperPic operates primarily locally on your device:

  • Your photos, videos, and local metadata remain on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data.
  • If you use the Google Drive backup feature, you can delete your backup data directly from your Google Drive account or disconnect the app from your Google account settings.
  • You can opt-out of anonymous usage analytics at any time via the app's Settings menu.

4. Children's Privacy

FlipperPic does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us.
